The 4th International Scientific Conference “Historical, Cultural, International, Religious and Political Relations of the Crimea with the Mediterranean Region and Eastern Countries” will be held in cooperation with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, The State Historical and Archeological Museum-Preserve “Tauric Chersonese”, the Sevastopol State University from May 26 to May 31, 2020, on the basis of The State Historical and Archeological Museum-Preserve “Tauric Chersonese”,  and the Sevastopol State University.

 

The following sections are planned for the conference:

- Political, trade and cultural relations of the Crimea with the states of the Mediterranean region and the countries of the East in Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the New time;

- Written sources on the history of the Crimea, the Mediterranean region and the countries of the East;

- Historiography and cartography of the Black Sea and Mediterranean waters;

- Archeology, numismatics and epigraphy of the Crimea: artifacts of international economic and cultural relations;

- Ethnic history of the Crimea and adjacent territories in the past and present;

- Empire in the fight for the Crimea (Roman, Byzantine, Golden Horde, Ottoman, Russian);

- Crimea and the Great Silk Road;

- Interethnic and political relations of the peoples of Crimea in the past and present - unity in diversity.

During the conference on the basis of the Sevastopol State University it is planned to hold:

- Round Table to discuss the directions of development of national cultures, political connections, languages and historical concepts of the Crimea and the Mediterranean region;

- section for students on the topic: “Marine archeology”.

At the conference, it is planned to hold a photo exhibition dedicated to the underwater-archaeological expeditions of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Sevastopol State University in Crimea.
