The International Congress of Byzantine Studies is the world’s largest academic event dedicated to the latest research and findings on the Byzantine Empire, its history, and culture. Since the first congress in 1924 in Bucharest, it has been held approximately every five years in different locations, attracting up to 1,500 participants in recent years. In 2026, the 25th Congress will take place in Vienna, where researchers from around the globe will present their work in hundreds of presentations. Cultural events and receptions will offer numerous opportunities for informal exchange.
The International Congress on the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East has been organised since 1998 by the scientific community of scholars working on and in the Near East. It is an exceptional forum for dialogue and scientific exchanges between all colleagues involved in the study of the Ancient Near East.
The XIVth congress of the AIECM3, "Association internationale pour l'étude de la céramique médiévale et moderne en Méditerranée", which will take place in Ravenna on 18-23 November 2024.

BECAP 24 – Pots and Society: relationships, identities, and prestige/status
Social relations are often very challenging issues in archaeology. As one of the most important craft products, found in abundance in archaeological record, pottery can reveal many aspects of these elusive interactions. BECAP 24 is aimed to address the topics related to these issues through three main themes:
The International Congresses on the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East (ICAANE) are organized every two years by the scientific community of scholars working on and in the Near East and studying therein cognitive, material and environmental evidence from the most remote phases until the Islamic period within a multidisciplinary approach.
The 13th International Congress on the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East will take place from 22 to 26 May 2023 at University of Copenhagen, Southern Campus.
This international workshop aims at promoting archaeological and archaeometric approaches to Islamic-period sites, based especially on finds from recent excavations in Iran and the Caucasus.
It will take place at the Maison de l'Orient et de la Méditerranée, Lyon on 11 May 2023
