Francine Blondé passed away, on Valentine's day.

Archaeologist and ceramologist specializing in the Greek world, she had been a Belgian member of the French School at Athens, and co-directed several archaeological excavations in Greece, especially in Thasos.

She became a CNRS researcher at the "Maison de l'Orient" in Lyon in 1991, in what was then the "Laboratoire de Céramologie" directed by Maurice Picon, before joining her thasian colleagues Dominique Mulliez and Arthur Muller in Lille in 2005.
She had special interest in craftmanship, especially pottery, and directed several programs on this topic.

Those who met her will remember her scientific curiosity, and what a warm, delicate and generous person she was.

Ya', la Blondé.
