BECAP 24 – Pots and Society: relationships, identities, and prestige/status
Social relations are often very challenging issues in archaeology. As one of the most important craft products, found in abundance in archaeological record, pottery can reveal many aspects of these elusive interactions. BECAP 24 is aimed to address the topics related to these issues through three main themes:
The International Congresses on the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East (ICAANE) are organized every two years by the scientific community of scholars working on and in the Near East and studying therein cognitive, material and environmental evidence from the most remote phases until the Islamic period within a multidisciplinary approach.
The 13th International Congress on the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East will take place from 22 to 26 May 2023 at University of Copenhagen, Southern Campus.
Since its foundation in 1976, the GMPCA (Groupe des Méthodes Pluridisciplinaires Contribuant à l'Archéologie) association aims to develop research on multidisciplinary methods contributing to archaeology in France and around the world. This association brings together specialists from various disciplines contributing to the resolution of archaeological and art history problems. The interface of these disciplines with archaeology is called "Archaeometry".
